Mama Seng

“Learning through Empowerment” is more than just a quote to me—it’s the foundation of everything I do.
Born to parents who left their home in Laos as refugees, my sister and I were the first generation in our family to be born in the United States. Their courage and sacrifice gave us the chance to dream bigger, to do more—and to give back. I carry their resilience and hope with me in every step of my journey.
My educational path has been shaped by both curiosity and purpose. After completing my Associate’s degree in IT–Computer Support Specialist, I discovered a deeper calling in education. I am now pursuing an Associate’s degree in Foundations of Teacher Education to build a strong base for my future as an educator and continue on to earn my Bachelor’s.

By combining my background in technology with my passion for teaching, I aim to bridge the gap between digital tools and meaningful learning. I want to guide and empower students—especially those who may not see their potential yet—by showing them how technology can open doors and transform lives.
Working as a tutor at Western Technical College has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. I love helping students reach that pivotal moment when they realize they can succeed. Empowering others to believe in themselves and continue their education is what fuels my passion for teaching and learning.
My long-term goal is to create inclusive, accessible learning environments where technology enhances—not replaces—human connection. Because everyone deserves the chance to say, “I can.”
